Anuv Jain is an Indian singer, songwriter, and composer. His simple chorded songs with lyrics primarily about love and heartbreak are well known, as is his bass voice. He primarily performs without percussion or any other instruments, just a guitar or ukulele.
Jain was raised in Ludhiana. After his father passed away at the age of 17 after spending several years in a coma, Jain started writing songs as a way to process his feelings. The first song he uploaded was “Meri Baaton Mein Tu” before “Baarishein” and other original songs were added to his YouTube channel. He claimed in an interview with Rolling Stone India that he draws inspiration from actual occurrences and composes songs over the course of several months. He also mentions Taylor Swift and Joji as influences.
He released “Baarishein,” his debut single, in 2018. He made the decision to dedicate his life to music during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has additionally given live performances all over the nation.
