[Lyrics for Aaron Shust – Runaway]

I would leave My world behindGive up everything thats mineIf I could know youI would leave behind My homeEnter your world all aloneIf I could find youIt doesnt matter if you run awayIt doesnt matter if you hideI would leave my world far behindThis love inside of Me; its never gonna dieAnd I dont care how far away you roamNo I dont care how far away you roamIll come running out with open arms to welcome you back homeIll come running out with open arms to welcome you back homeI would love to see our nameEngraved upon a picture frameOn my mantleI would love to see your faceEvery morning as you wake upTo see MeI just wish that I could talk to youBecause I love you more than lifeBehind the Song:”This song was one of my first attempts at the treacherous art form of writing from Gods perspective. What is very interesting to me is how my theology has evolved since the time I wrote it. My original lyric But that wont happen if you run away changed to It doesnt matter if you run away. A line that said Until I find you wandering alone changed to I dont care how far away you roam. I loved this song and wanted to record the original version as a little tribute to the past, but that would have meant singing lyrics that I didnt really believe anymore. What I do believe is that it doesnt matter if we run away or hide. I dont believe that God cant find us if we run away, and I dont believe God has to search for us, as if He didnt know exactly where we are and what were doing. Like the father of the prodigal son, He comes running out with open arms and always welcomes His wayward children back home.” – Aaron Shust
