Ive spent my whole life with one foot out of the door
It finally took putting down what I was working on

I was patiently waiting, anticipating to get back out on the road
Trying to be smart and play my part, shoulder my share of the load
I used to be a singer with a family back home
Now Im just a father and a husband,
Who knows his way around a microphone
Last year nearly broke us
Time slipped by like a ghost
But it allowed me to focus on the things that matter most
